The MCB Quantico School Liaison Program: Guiding Quantico’s Military Children Toward Academic Success

January 21, 2015

The military lifestyle can present unique challenges to school-aged children of military families. That's why the School Liaison Program exists. This special program, which services duty stations all over the U.S.—including Quantico—has an important mission: "to identify and coordinate community resources to reduce the impact of the mobile military lifestyle on military school-aged children and families."

The School Liaison Program has developed solutions to common academic hurdles faced by military children, so if your youngster is having difficulties in school, chances are that she isn't alone in her struggles! In fact, the School Liaison Program exists in part to act as an advocate for military students, bridging any possible gaps in communication between military students and area schools. The program educates local school districts about the unique circumstances surrounding the military lifestyle, which can help make it a little easier for Junior to make the transition into a new school. What's more, the School Liaison Program can refer you to a tutor and connect you with other military parents, so that you and your child feel supported in your journey to academic success!

MCB Quantico School Liaison Program is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
