Feeling Charitable, Quantico? Take the Plunge for a Good Cause at the 9th Annual Polar Plunge
January 4, 2016
The holiday season is all about giving back, and that means that you should help out the community as well as your own family. In Fredericksburg, the 9th Annual Polar Plunge is one of the biggest charity events of the year. While this popular event is not for the faint of heart (or the warm-blooded), it's a fun and silly way to do something good for those in need.
At the Polar Plunge, participants gather at the Fredericksburg City Boat Dock in a group of more than 200 plungers. Once the whistle blows, the entire group plunges into the ice cold Rappahannock River to the delight of the cheering crowd of supporters. All proceeds from the event go toward the EOD Warrior Foundation, providing much-needed monetary support and awareness for an all-American cause. There's even a costume contest, a live DJ and hot beverages that make it fun to support our country's troops.
